CertainTeed Construction in Ontario, CA | Moreno Valley Builders

We’re an independent CertainTeed contractor serving our Ontario service area, not a factory-authorized crew. That distinction matters here because Santa Ana wind and grit off the Cajon corridor punish roofs differently than the mild coastal zones most manufacturer programs assume. If your Ontario home or building wears CertainTeed shingles, call (877) 752-3154 for a free estimate on repair or replacement.

Ontario sits where two construction worlds collide: aging 1950s and 1960s tract ranches in 91761, 91762, and 91764, and a newer logistics spine in 91758 and 91798. We work both. Our CertainTeed sales & service experience spans tear-offs on original three-tab ranch roofs and wind-rated low-slope detailing on warehouse shells, sometimes in the same week. Same city, two code paths, one accountable contractor.

Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for CertainTeed Service

We know CertainTeed assemblies from the deck up. Landmark architectural shingles, Presidential Shake, XT three-tabs, Flintlastic low-slope systems, the accessory line that goes with each one. More importantly, we know how they behave under inland heat, blowing dust, and wind-driven grit, which is what Ontario actually throws at a roof.

Noel Trevino, our owner and general contractor, grew up in the Sunnymead Ranch area of Moreno Valley and has spent decades re-roofing and renovating Inland Empire homes. He’s torn off enough heat-aged shingle fields to know what a curled tab tells you about the deck underneath. That experience shapes how we quote: honestly, with the failure mode explained before we touch a hammer.

We use genuine CertainTeed shingles, underlayment, and accessories because wind and fire ratings only mean something when the whole assembly matches the wrapper. Where aftermarket vents or edge metal outperform the OEM part, we say so and specify the better piece. One contractor. Every phase.

Common CertainTeed Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario

  • Granule loss on north- and west-facing Landmark slopes. Santa Ana wind-driven grit sandblasts these exposures, scuffing the granule layer and exposing the asphalt mat years before the south slope shows wear. We see this constantly on Ontario tract homes near the older blocks west of Euclid.
  • Heat-curled XT three-tab shingles on 1950s and 1960s ranches. Ontario’s 100°F+ summers dry and curl original three-tab fields, causing tab lifting and nail pops along the ridge. Owners often call it wind damage. It’s heat aging, and it means re-roof, not patch.
  • Dust-packed underlayment edges and clogged ventilation. Blowing dust infiltrates ridge vents, soffit vents, and HVAC roof penetrations. Grit packs underlayment edges where flashing laps have opened. Attic airflow drops, shingles overheat, and failure accelerates.
  • Deck telegraphing through shingles on skip-sheathed decks. Many original Ontario ranch roofs in 91761 and 91764 were framed over skip sheathing or a thin deck. Deck movement telegraphs into cracked shingles and popped fasteners at valleys and penetrations, especially after decades of thermal cycling.
  • Wind-uplift issues on newer industrial and warehouse low-slope roofs. The logistics corridor in 91758 and 91798 sees fierce wind loading on large roof planes. CertainTeed Flintlastic and low-slope systems need correct fastening and edge detailing, or wind gets under the membrane and peels it back.
